Editorial Board Responsibilities

The Editorial Board of the Jurnal Pendidikan Digital dan Kebudayaan (JPDK) is responsible for maintaining the journal's academic quality, scholarly integrity, and continuity of the publication process. The duties and responsibilities of the Editorial Board include:

  1. Establishing Editorial Direction and Policies
    Establishing the journal's editorial direction and policies in accordance with the focus, scope, vision, and objectives of JPDK in advancing the fields of education, digital technology, and culture.

  2. Conducting Initial Manuscript Screening
    Conducting an initial assessment of submitted manuscripts to ensure their alignment with the journal's focus and scope, academic suitability, originality, novelty, and compliance with the journal's author guidelines.

  3. Managing the Peer Review Process
    Managing the peer review process by appointing reviewers with appropriate qualifications, expertise, and competence relevant to the subject matter of each submitted manuscript.

  4. Ensuring Fair, Objective, and Transparent Review
    Ensuring that the review process is conducted objectively, fairly, and transparently, including maintaining the principles of double-blind peer review and protecting the confidentiality of authors' and reviewers' identities.

  5. Making Editorial Decisions
    Evaluating and considering reviewers' recommendations when making editorial decisions, including acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection.

  6. Maintaining Academic and Scholarly Quality
    Ensuring the scientific quality and substantive integrity of published articles through a structured editorial process, including assessing the clarity of methodology, validity of findings, appropriateness of discussion, and contribution of the article to the advancement of knowledge.

  7. Upholding Publication Ethics and Integrity
    Maintaining academic integrity and publication ethics by preventing plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, conflicts of interest, duplicate publication, and other forms of academic or publication misconduct.

  8. Facilitating Editorial Communication
    Facilitating effective communication among authors, reviewers, and editors throughout the editorial process and providing editorial information, feedback, and decisions in a professional and timely manner.

  9. Ensuring Technical and Editorial Standards
    Ensuring that accepted manuscripts meet the journal's technical and editorial standards, including article structure, citation and referencing practices, the quality of tables and figures, and consistency of journal formatting.

  10. Supervising Production and Publication
    Supervising the production and publication process of articles, including final editing, proofreading, layout, online publication, and article archiving.

  11. Maintaining Consistency Across Journal Issues
    Maintaining the academic and editorial consistency and quality of each journal issue in accordance with the established publication schedule.

  12. Promoting Continuous Journal Development
    Encouraging the continuous development and improvement of the journal through regular evaluation of editorial policies, enhancement of reviewer and editor quality, and expansion of academic networks and collaborations.

  13. Handling Complaints and Publication Ethics Issues
    Handling complaints, appeals, disputes, and publication ethics concerns objectively and appropriately, based on the principles of fairness, transparency, confidentiality, and academic integrity.

  14. Maintaining Editorial Independence
    Safeguarding the independence of editorial decisions and ensuring that publication decisions are based on the quality, relevance, originality, novelty, and scholarly contribution of manuscripts rather than personal, institutional, commercial, or other non-academic interests.

  15. Enhancing Journal Reputation and Visibility
    Collaborating in efforts to strengthen the journal's reputation and visibility by improving the quality of published articles, expanding academic networks and collaborations, and promoting the dissemination of research findings published by JPDK.
